Professional Development for SCE Students

The university has established the Employment Guidance Office, and the SCE has set up an employment guidance team to provide comprehensive guidance on career planning and professional career counseling. Every year, the office provides employment services such as enterprise promotion and contact, student employment registration, employment guidance and training, and graduation dispatch. Career planning and employment guidance are based on the needs of society, and are tailored to the characteristics and individual needs of students.

In the first year, students are guided to form a preliminary career plan to inspire their awareness of career planning and the development of lifelong learning ability; a series of activities for freshmen career guidance is carried out, inviting career professionals, outstanding alumni, experts and scholars, working teachers and seniors to participate in explaining the industry development and employment situation. Arrange for students to visit industry benchmark enterprises and guide them to choose the appropriate professional direction according to their interests and strengths.

In the sophomore year, students are guided to actively participate in career planning and entrepreneurship competitions at all levels; through summer practice programs, they learn about industry trends, corporate talent needs, job competency requirements, clarify goals, and promote the development of independent learning.

In the third year, we offer career guidance courses and guide students to write career plans; arrange students to attend interview seminars and open days of enterprises to further improve the feasibility of students' career planning and enhance their professional standard literacy; offer summer practice courses to further understand the industry and clarify the direction of employment through a month of exercise.

In the fourth year of college, we focus on employment services, rely on alumni and cooperative enterprises to strengthen the docking with industries and enterprises; regularly hold various job fairs and release recruitment information through various channels; carry out career development and employment consultation with the help of professional teachers.

After Graduation

Students graduate from SCE have strong innovation ability and high comprehensive quality and capability. They are widely favored and praised by employers in China and abroad. 

In recent years, about 51% of the graduates continued to study at top universities in China and abroad. The percentage of students studying abroad is 15%. About 46% of the graduates are employed in major infrastructure construction and design companies, real estate development enterprises, financial institutions, or government agencies. They are advancing to have both the national and international perspectives in all walks of life and to be talented leaders who will shape the future and benefit mankind.

The percentage of students working in different types of businesses is shown below. The largest number of students work at construction companies with an occupation ratio of 51%. The ratio of students working at the real estate enterprises is 21%. Some 15% of students go to public institutions, and 13% to design institutes.
